L'Auberge de la Klauss

Why not escape to the countryside for a hearty meal at the Auberge de la Klauss in a unique setting.

The Auberge, just 80 metres from the Domaine, is an institution for Lorraine cuisine, which has been delighting fans of local produce for over 50 years.

A meal at the Auberge de la Klauss will take you on a taste journey back in time. Its simple and tasty dishes with regional flavours make it a true symbol of authenticity and Lorraine produce.

Head Chef and Farm Manager, Frederic Keff puts his love for beautiful and delicious produce to good use by paying tribute to homemade cuisine inspired by the purest traditions from Lorraine. He lovingly prepares quality produce from the Auberge’s free-range farm and vegetable patch in a resolutely rustic and welcoming setting. Come and enjoy a warm and friendly dining experience in the countryside with a strong family atmosphere.

At the Auberge de la Klauss, the Keff family shares their cherished family heritage in the art of hospitality, good food and wine, as well as their strong attachment to the region. Frederic and his wife Valerie provide a perfectly executed gastronomic experience and warm welcome for their guests.

The Klauss Cellar

Come and look at the Klauss’ tasting cellar built by Charles Keff in the 80s, located between the Auberge and the Domaine.

The cellar holds over 60,000 bottles of exceptional French wines, as well as 19th and 20th century vintage Armagnacs from 1875 to 2007.

The tasting area, next to the tailor-made smokehouse, provides an extraordinary setting for pre-dinner drinks or for group tasting sessions. Why not enjoy a unique opportunity to watch the sabering of the bottle you are going to taste in the comfort of our vaulted cellar by the fireplace and ham-smokehouse, a setting which is second to none.

A wide range of products produced on site such as foie gras, hams, goose gizzards confit, duck breasts, duck confits or fuseaux cured sausages from Lorraine are available for sale.

The Klauss Cellar is the quintessence of local terroir. Every corner has been designed to perfectly refine the products that are stored here. Lorraine specialities are showcased with a wide range of exceptional wines, to ensure that this gourmet stopover is a memorable experience for fans of local cuisine.

The Klauss Estate Farm

Come and visit our family-run Klauss Farm Estate overlooking the Klausberg hills with its magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. You might even get the chance to share an extraordinary moment with either Charles or Frederic Keff.

Discover our farm’s natural environment and its 24 acres of prairies with its teeming ecosystem of almost 7,000 ducks, 900 hens, 200 capons, turkeys and one hundred pigs annually, that roam around freely in perfect harmony with the surrounding countryside. The Auberge is renowned for its foie gras. Its capons are reserved exclusively for festivities at the end of the year.

At the Klauss, the quality of our products reflects our strong desire to produce everything on the Estate. This is why we farm our own fields around the Auberge and harvest cereals (barley and wheat) to feed our animals (poultry, pigs), as well as our latest creation of a new beer, the Pils de Montenach, in partnership with Papyllon Brewery.

Our sustainable approach to nature, traditional know-how and passion for quality products, ensure you will enjoy an exceptional gastronomic experience.
